Rate of Loss
A
diet cannot be followed at the
same pace over a long period.
Some
weeks will be more effective than others with regard to
weight loss. This has to do with the adaptation of the
body to the reduced caloric intake and can often be quite
discouraging. The use of a Body Fat Monitor will give a
far better indication of progress. As your weight
decreases, your suggested caloric intake will decrease as
well.
For
example, a man weighing 220 pounds will require
3000 calories per day to maintain his weight. If he
decreases his weight to 200 pounds, he will only require
2800 calories per day for maintaining his weight.
