Excess weight is a health hazard for those who only have
10 pounds to loose as it is for those who suffer from obesity.

Be very concerned regarding weight problems among
children; a lifetime of well-being and good health is at stake.

Hypertension and diabetes are often linked to being
overweight.

For weight loss, keep intake to 1000-2000 calories a day,
with foods with a low glycemic index and no saturated fats.
Spread out over 5 small meals a day.

Avoid saturated fats at all times.

Weight is a very subjective measure and will soon be
replaced by fat monitor scales.
Life Style
1. Try to do some
kind of physical activity everyday, make sure it is
something you enjoy.
2. Base your foods on vegetables, fruits, fish,
seafood, white meat, and little red meat.
3. Eat 5 small meals a day
4. Avoid saturated (animal) fats and stick to
mono-saturated and poly-unsaturated (vegetable) fats.
5. Stay moderate with alcohol consumption, choosing
wine or beer before hard liquor.
6. Eat fruits and low fat yogurts as between meal
snacks.
7. Take a daily fiber supplement. This is going to be
a habit just as important as brushing your teeth every
day.
